The Buckman Direct Diversion Board (“BDD Board”) is seeking interested Santa Fe community members to serve on the BDD Board.
The BDD Board is a Joint Powers of Authority comprised of the City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County which oversees the Buckman Direct Diversion Water Treatment Facility. Buckman Direct Diversion is co-owned by the City and County and has been operational since 2011. BDD diverts Rio Grande surface water to supply drinking water to the City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County. Las Campanas serves as a limited partner and receives raw water for irrigation of its facilities.
The voting BDD Board consists of five appointed members: two City councilors, two County Commissioners, one citizen member, and one alternate citizen member.
The BDD Board meets once per month, typically on the first Thursday, starting at 4:00 p.m. Additional special meetings may occur as needed.
The BDD Board seeks interested applicants for the citizen member position and for the alternate citizen member position. The alternate may participate in meetings but does not vote unless the citizen member is absent. The citizen member positions are volunteer, unpaid positions.
