Randy Sugrue has been appointed Operations Superintendent for Buckman Direct Diversion. Randy has worked in the City of Santa Fe Public Utilities department for a total of 19 years including the City of Santa Fe Paseo Real Wastewater Treatment Facility, the Canyon Road Water Treatment Facility, and the Water Conservation office. Most recently he has held one of the Charge Operator positions at Buckman Direct Diversion Water Treatment Facility and has been assisting in BDD plant operations for 9 years. Randy started as an Advanced Water Treatment operator (AWT), then was promoted as one of BDD’s Charge Operators, before being appointed as the BDD Operations Superintendent.
Randy received the New Mexico Water Wastewater Association’s Operator of the Year Award in 2017 which at the same time, BDD received the Presidential Award of Excellence. With Randy’s background in water conservation, he has an understanding of the importance of conserved water as one of our indirect sources of water in addition to producing the best quality water for our residents with his team of highly trained operators.
